Antonio Díaz García

Description

Antonio Díaz García was returning home from the La Gramola bar, of which he was the owner. One or two terrorists were waiting for him on the landing outside his home. He was shot twice in the head and died instantly. No one noticed what had happened until one of his neighbours left home at 6 am to go to work. The terrorists are believed to have escaped in a car that had been stolen at gunpoint in Oyarzun some hours earlier.

Although the attack was initially claimed by the Comandos Autónomos Anticapitalistas, which stated that the victim had links to drugs, ETA-militar said the communiqué was false and provided information on the identity of the Oyarzun resident whose car had been stolen.
