Description
On 28 July 1991, ETA killed civil guard Carlos Pérez Dacosta in the town of Guecho, Vizcaya. He and Francisco Aguilera Granados were travelling in an unmarked vehicle with a Córdoba registration along Calle Amaya in the Las Arenas district. They were about 100 metres from the Civil Guard barracks when an ETA car bomb exploded next to the car.
Carlos Pérez’s killing was one of a wave of attacks by ETA against members of the security forces and their families in the days leading up to a visit to the Basque Country by the King and Queen of Spain, scheduled for 30 and 31 July 1991.
