Description
At 8.30 am on 2 September 1980, two GRAPO terrorists opened fire on the official car of General Enrique Briz Armengol, killing him instantly and gravely wounding his bodyguard, Marcos Vidal Pinar (19), and his driver, Luis Arnáu Daví. The attack took place in the Les Corts district, in the upper part of Barcelona, outside No. 81-85, Calle Carlos III. The bodyguard, Marcos Vidal Pinar eventually succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the car survived.
