Manuel Fuentes Pedreira had just finished playing a pelota match at the Santa Isabel de Arrigorriaga ball court and was sitting in the front row of the stands, when two ETA members, a man and a woman, came and sat behind him. They waited for a few moments before the woman shot him once in the head from behind. His body was left lying across the stands. The killers got away in a taxi they had previously stolen.
