Description
After leaving the Toki-Alai Bar, where he had been watching the television programme Gran Estadio, José Artero Quiles went to another café. From there, he made his way to his car which was parked in the town square opposite the town hall. He was shot as he was starting up the vehicle by terrorists who had been waiting for him. He died instantly.
The attack took place just one hour after the murder in Durango of jeweller Damaso Sánchez Soto.
