Description
Armed Police officers Fernando Sánchez Hernández and José María Martínez Morales were on duty at the door of the branch office of the Caja Postal in the Aluche district when they were machine-gunned by two GRAPO terrorists who approached them from either side. The assailants then made off in a vehicle driven by a third terrorist who was waiting for them outside. Barely an hour and half later, the same terrorists attacked a Civil Guard patrol guarding a branch office of the Caja Postal de Ahorros, killing one of the officers.
