Alors qu\u2019il se rendait \u00e0 la place Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n de Bilbao, le conducteur dut arr\u00eater la Land Rover pour laisser la place aux voitures qui passaient sur sa droite. C\u2019est \u00e0 ce moment-l\u00e0 que trois terroristes attaqu\u00e8rent \u00e0 la mitraillette le v\u00e9hicule du c\u00f4t\u00e9 droit et de l\u2019arri\u00e8re, tirant jusqu\u2019\u00e0 neuf balles.<\/p>\n<p>Le militaire qui conduisait le v\u00e9hicule, Gustavo Perez, 21 ans, fut bless\u00e9 dans le dos. Il sortit par ses propres moyens, mais s\u2019effondra sous le choc. Le colonel Aurelio P\u00e9rez-Zamora C\u00e1mara qui souffrait de blessures multiples, mourut aux urgences de l\u2019h\u00f4pital de Basurto. Pendant ce temps, le corps du commandant Juli\u00e1n Ezquerro Serrano, d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 sur place resta \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur du v\u00e9hicule pendant une heure jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce que le juge ordonn\u00e2t l\u2019enl\u00e8vement du corps.<\/p>\n<p>Le colonel Aurelio P\u00e9rez-Zamora vivait \u00e0 Bilbao depuis \u00e0 peine vingt jours.
