Les faits se produisirent alors qu\u2019Araluce allait d\u00e9jeuner \u00e0 son domicile de l\u2019Avenida de la Libertad \u00e0 Saint S\u00e9bastien, accompagn\u00e9 de son chauffeur, Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda El\u00edcegui, et de trois policiers de sa garde rapproch\u00e9e, Antonio Palomo, Alfredo Garc\u00eda et Luis Francisco Sanz.<\/p>\n<p>Alors qu\u2019Araluce sortait de la voiture pour se rendre \u00e0 son domicile, trois individus qui se trouvaient sous un abribus ouvrirent le feu et tir\u00e8rent une centaine de balles sur Araluce et les deux voitures qui l\u2019entouraient avec leurs mitraillettes. Le Pr\u00e9sident du Conseil provincial tomba mortellement bless\u00e9 sur le trottoir, avec sept impacts de balles &#8211; une dans la jambe et six dans l\u2019abdomen et le thorax &#8211; ; le chauffeur de sa voiture, Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda El\u00edcegui D\u00edaz, fut atteint deux fois \u00e0 la t\u00eate.
