Le matin du 30 mars 1976 il se rendait \u00e0 l\u2019entreprise lorsque deux membres de l\u2019ETA tir\u00e8rent sur lui \u00e0 courte distance \u00e0 huit reprises pour s\u2019enfuir ensuite en voiture. Un coll\u00e8gue, Aurelio Torres fut t\u00e9moin de l\u2019attentat et s\u2019approcha de Vicente pour l\u2019aider. Celui-ci put \u00e0 peine dire \u00ab ils m\u2019ont tu\u00e9, ils m\u2019ont tu\u00e9 \u00bb. Alors qu\u2019ils s\u2019enfuyaient, les terroristes lanc\u00e8rent une grenade de fabrication allemande qui n\u2019explosa pas parce qu\u2019elle \u00e9tait goupill\u00e9e. La Guardia Civil retira la goupille deux heures plus tard.<\/p>\n<p>Vicente Soria vivait depuis 20 ans au Pays basque. Il \u00e9tait mari\u00e9 et avait quatre enfants.
