Description
At around 8 pm, ETA member Juan Carlos Balerdi entered the Antxi pub, owned by Engraciano González Macho, and asked for a drink. He then shot Engraciano twice in the head, killing him instantly. A second terrorist was covering him from outside and a third was waiting for them in a getaway car.
In a statement justifying the attack, ETA linked the victim to drug trafficking. However, Engraciano’s widow, Ester Bidasoro, denied that her husband was in any way involved with such activities.
